Defender 11.4" PiVi Pro Display Retrofit Guide

Published 30 June 2026 ·Guides & Case Studies

The Land Rover Defender's infotainment system has evolved significantly. Early 2020+ models shipped with a smaller 10-inch display, while the 2023+ models received the impressive 11.4-inch curved PiVi Pro screen. The good news? The hardware difference is minimal — with the right genuine parts and software, we can upgrade your Defender to the larger display.

What We Did

A 2021 Defender 110 D240 came to our workshop with the standard 10-inch InControl Touch Pro system. The owner wanted the full PiVi Pro experience with the curved 11.4-inch display found in newer models.

Parts Used

  • Genuine JLR 11.4″ PiVi Pro display assembly (part number verified by VIN)
  • Updated bezel and mounting bracket
  • Factory wiring harness adapter

Software Work

Using JLR Pathfinder, we updated the infotainment ECU configuration to recognise the new display. This included:

  • Screen resolution calibration
  • Touch zone remapping
  • Climate control integration (the new display handles HVAC controls)
  • Wireless CarPlay activation

Results

The upgrade took 4 hours. The new display works exactly as it would from the factory — all menus, climate controls, and off-road information screens are fully functional. The owner also gained wireless CarPlay as part of the software update.

Timeline & Cost

  • Time: 4 hours
  • Warranty: 1 year on parts and labour
