The Auto High Beam Assist (AHBA) system in the XF – X260 is designed to deliver maximum visibility and convenience while ensuring safety for all road users. Once activated, the system automatically switches between high and low beam depending on driving conditions, eliminating the need for manual intervention.
When the road ahead is dark and free from oncoming or preceding traffic, AHBA engages the high beam to give you the clearest possible view. As soon as the system detects headlights from approaching vehicles or taillights from vehicles ahead, it seamlessly switches back to low beam, preventing glare and ensuring you do not dazzle other drivers.
The system only becomes active when ambient light drops below a predetermined threshold, meaning it will not interfere during daylight or well-lit urban driving.
