Standard Terrain Response 2 selects from fixed pre‑calibrated terrain presets. Configurable Terrain Response decouples the linked‑preset logic, granting granular independent adjustment of each chassis‑powertrain parameter. The ATCM all‑terrain‑control‑module communicates setting requests across the vehicle CAN‑network to PCM, TCM, PSCM, SCM and DSC modules, applying the user‑defined mix of calibrations. Feature‑enablement requires coordinated CCF edits within ATCM chassis‑blocks plus infotainment‑HMI flags to render the slider‑configuration menus on‑screen. This coding workflow reads and backs‑up original factory CCF, enables Configurable‑Terrain‑Response feature‑flags, executes cross‑module integrity validation and writes modified configuration back via OBD‑II connection. Post‑write, controlled ATCM and related chassis‑module resets plus full vehicle sleep‑wake cycle are mandatory for custom‑profile menus and parameter‑mixing logic to initialise. This is purely software‑based activation; full Terrain Response 2 physical hardware must already be factory‑installed. Full roll‑back to factory‑spec can be achieved restoring the backed‑up original CCF file.

Configurable Terrain Response cannot be enabled‑by‑coding‑alone if any required off‑road chassis‑components are missing or faulty. Supported MY2017‑2025 Range‑Rover, Range‑Rover‑Sport, Defender and Discovery model‑lines. Host‑system requirement: Windows 10 / Windows 11 64‑bit PC with valid SX‑TOOL software licence.
